Very few women have that “hour glass” shape.  Be it the third grade teacher, the accountant or the advertising executive.  World famous supermodel Tyra Banks will tell she does not have it either.  We’re all different and come in different sizes.  Some of us are pear shaped: large hips and small waist, some are apple shaped: thick waist, full bust etc.  The list is infinite.  As Jay-Z, popular rap artist would say we have 99 problems and size IS ONE!

So what am I getting at?  As women we have been trained to shop by numbers.  You know what I mean.  I am a size X, always have been, always will be.  When will we realize it’s all relative.  I was with a young lady the other day and she was expressing her frustration to me about her dress size.  Apparently, while out shopping she discovered she was two sizes larger than she thought she was.  You know what I told her “SO WHAT”.

There are so many tricks in the world of fashion that it is hard to discern what a woman’s true size/shape is.  Some women hide their entire body under layers of fabric because they don’t like their “love-handles, or their breasts are too large/small.  What they don’t think to do is accentuate that part of themselves that is really great.  They could have a slim waist, great thighs or a coveted back side, but you would never know because they walk around in a circus tent.

“Preaching from the Pulpit Time”

In order to look your best, you MUST be honest with yourself and your body shape.  You may not like it, you may curse your ancestors for those large hips, but you can’t change it.  The first step is accepting who you are and figure out what your best attributes are.  Once you figure that out, you can start to buy clothes that work for you.  Everything else will fall in place.

Learn to work with what you DO have.

Tip: It’s about FIT not size.  Remember it is just a number.  Nothing more, nothing less.

Until next time – Live your Passion Thru Your Fashion!!

Tips: How To Appear Thin in 2010

Posted on 19. Dec, 2009 by Nikki C.

We all have heard people say to wear all black to appear thin. Well, sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn’t for others.  The sure fire way to appear thin it to dress appropriately for your body type and your frame.

One of the biggest mistakes women make is not knowing what works perfectly for their body type and their clothing personality.  For instance, a woman that is top heavy or busty. If she wears the wrong size bra everything is thrown off from head to toe.

I too was faced with this challenge for many years. I was measured by the so called professionals in the department stores.  Nevertheless, I was wearing a incorrect bra for years.  Please do not make the same mistake I have made for years.

We must learn to hold the girls up. We must invest in a great bra.  This will give us a great overall sillouhette and will give you an instant breast reduction or enhancement. It just depends on what you are going for at the time.

It’s amazing the visual effect that a great bra does for the girls” If you are experiencing back discomfort, please seek medical attention.

A good bra will make all the difference in the world!

Finding The Right Clothes That Fit Is Only Half The Battle

bodymagicandoprah

What do I mean by this question? Some women feel if they spend a lot of money on their clothes and their appearance, they have done all they need to do. This is farthest from the truth in my book.  When you find the perfect dress, you can’t stop there.  You need to make sure the inside looks and feels as good as the outside.

The image and appearance of your clothes and how they look on you can only be as good as the foundation pieces that give them support from underneath. In other words, your undergarments sets the stage and secures the foundation for the outward appearance.

Recommendation

  • If you are having problems with flabby arms or jiggly arms, try a product called Tresleek’ formerly known as Flabuless. This is similar to a Spanx for your arms. This is perfect for tightening the look of the arm. It holds it in place and give you a very polish clean look.    Go Here

Most women and men have some problem areas on their bodies they are not extremely pleased with 100%.  For instance, as a plus size woman, I have developed a larger tummy, that I do not care for.   I just discovered something wonderful, and I am adding it to my product line and business model.  It is called “Body Magic” by Ardyss Iinternational.  Body Magic and several of the other 23 products from Ardyss International Inc. can change not only your image, but change your life.

  1. For instance, the emphasis “Body Magic” Garment.   This garment is unbelievable.  If you have problem areas such as your stomach, or love handles, or no defining waist. Then this product is definetly for you.  This product will do several things, but mainly…..
  2. Lifts and Holds buttocks up in position
  3. Helps to firm and control your abdomen
  4. It helps to lift and hold your lower stomach in position

The bottom line is this product will give you the results of  liposuction without the dreadful surgery.

What Plus Size Women Should Wear and Should not Wear

Article Written: Bridgette Weber

Have you ever noticed how plus size women are presented to would be customers of fashion? Most often, women who have surpassed the thin and wispy stage, that we are used to imagining a model as being, are dressed in over sized, shapeless items. The message that women get is that many designers don’t even know how to dress them. Thus plus sized women gain poor esteem and dont benefit from being able to observe how great they actually can look, when avoiding what it is best not to wear.

Here are some examples of fashion blunders that many plus sized woman settle for when they dont know any better.

The Over sized outfit.

The misconstrued logic here is that by wearing something large enough to cover a great expanse of a woman’s body she will manage to hide any unsightly lumps and bumps. However, the effect is somewhat like the innocent example of a child who puts his own hands in front of his face and shouts, “Ha, you cant see me now!”

The truth is, of course, that we can see a woman isn’t slim when she wears large, lose and floppy clothing, just as we can still see the child when he covers his face. The added problem though, is that by attempting to hide, a woman’s figure ends up looking at least twice its natural size and shape.

To put it in a nutshell, baggy clothing is unflattering on a plus sized woman. Fitted clothes however, which nip in in all the right places, can make any woman look wonderful, curvaceous and sexy. If you are plus sized then hold your head up high and try not to wear that baggy clothing. All is does is give others the impression that you are not fit to be seen, which is a shame as underneath the mounds of material there may be a goddess just waiting to come out.

Horizontal stripes and large patterns.

If you want to know how horizontal stripes make a woman’s figure look then place such a piece of material over your coffee table as a cover and see how it seems to have grown in size. This is what happens to any person who wears a clothing item with a horizontal stripe pattern. In Fact, I would go so far as to recommend women who are very thin and who want to look larger to wear them. Therefore, larger women would do best to avoid them and to instead, try wearing vertical stripes, which have a more slimming effect.

Large, floral and other bold patterns can have a similar effect to that of horizontal stripes. If worn over areas that are large, they add to the expanse. This is fine if you want to make an area seem bigger, but isn’t wonderful.

Tight clothing.

Close fitting clothing is fine for a plus sized woman, but only when worn on the appropriate areas of her body. However really tight clothing is pretty unattractive on most figures and definately on a voluptuous one.
Clothing which may be too tight is for sale and sometimes in fashion. So many women mistakenly believe that if its trendy it must be also be flattering. The only type of figure that some styles of tight clothing may suit, although I have my doubts, is that of the supper skinny. Even then, the tightness will emphasize whats underneath, thus making a thin woman appear thinner. A large woman, will naturally. appear larger than she probably it. Especially if she looks like shes busting out at the seams.

Tapered pants and jeans also come under the heading of tight clothing as they hug the ankles of the wearer. This tends to make all that is above the ankles appear larger than life. This isnt a good contrast to create.

Boot cut trousers are the saving grace of today’s average sized and plus sized woman. As in fact, the average size moves up and up each year, plus is probably the size of a great deal of women and is, almost average rather than as its title suggests, more than average.

Dull, lifeless, boring and drab.

Just because a woman doesn’t resemble a stick insect doesn’t mean that she needs to hide away in clothing which is decidedly unremarkable. We all have days when we want to slouch around in sweat pants and an old tee shirt, but this shouldn’t become an everyday habit.

Color, when added to an outfit, can bring it and its owner to life. Velvet, satin, silk, linen and lace are all materials that can be worn by any woman, of any size. However many plus sized women remain shy of them as they dont understand that they need to make a fuss of themselves and raise their self esteem.

Plus sized women who stick to wearing their husbands old sweatshirt, kaftan’s, baggy housecoats and bland colors can all benefit from straying off of the path of gloom into a sunnier climate.

Lastly, the golden rule of what not to wear for plus sized women is anything that doesn’t put a spring in her step and a smile on her face.

COMMUNICATION IS THE KEY

One of the most important image makers for any person is the way we communicate.  Communication is the most powerful tool we possess.  The most powerful conversation we can have is with ourselves.  What I mean is no matter what someone else says about you negative or positive, it doesn’t matter.  What matters is what you say to yourself.  We all have experienced negative connotations as well as positive connotations, but what you feel and say about yourself and to yourself makes a huge difference.

Here Are 3 Tips When Speaking About Yourself

  1. Remember to take the time daily to remind yourself of your positive qualities.  Speak the things you desire,  not the things you don’t.
  2. Surround yourself with people that uplift you and hold you higher. Only believers in you.
  3. Last, speak honestly of your accomplishments, be proud of who you are.

Remember the words we speak shape our lives as well as our image.  Be mindful of the powerful conversations you have with yourself and other.
