Prison With No Walls- When Do You Quit Your Job

She awakened that morning, feeling as tired as she felt before went to bed. The restless nights were part of her normal routine, starring into the dark room trying to make sense of it all. “I can’t believe what this has come to” she said to herself. Morning comes and she’s still exhausted from her restless night. Dragging her out of bed, bags under eyes, limbs feeling heavy, mind weary and tired she said a Prayer. “Dear Lord, if you could only show me a way, give me a sign, help me to understand and deal with this mess, I promise never to get in this predicament again. HELLO GOD! are you listening to me, seriously, I promise not to do it again, please set me free from this prison. I want my life back, I want my freedom, and I want a future full of love, prosperity and happiness. I deserve that, don’t I?” she screamed and fell back on the bed. “You said you would put no more on me than I can handle and it’s just that, sometimes Lord I wonder if I’m as strong as you think I am.” She wiped the tears away from her tired, red eyes and sighed. She couldn’t even have a nervous breakdown in peace.
It was a day just as yesterday, just as the days of the month before that and the months of the years before that, everyday seemed like groundhog’s day for her and until now she had become comfortable in her uncomfortable existence. Had she become institutionalized or just numb all these years? The feeling of desperation was causing her health to fail. Her hair is turning grey from premature aging and stress. Her thoughts are in a constant fog and her soul ached for a life that she desired. She was dying a slow and agonizing death. Her life uneventful and mundane and she no longer wanted to talk with her family and friends about the situation, they couldn’t help her anyway.
She was once a free spirit full of life, an adventurer with dreams of running her own company. She was going to make her mark in this world and not end up like some other people. She was younger then with no responsibilities and all the opportunity life had to offer. Funny, how we don’t take advantage of God’s gifts to us. Things sure changed as the years went on and being in this Prison was cruel, cold, and lonely, the days were long uneventful and her mind would drift in and out of thoughts of a different life, a life of what ifs. She was on the verge of a break down or a break through; the choice was up to her.
The choice to quit her job and pursue her dreams or continue to complain and work to achieve someone else’s dream is up to her and it’s up to you. What will you do? Are you ready to make a change, can you take a leap of faith? Or are you a spectator of your life?
This is a true and interesting story. The purpose of this story is to show how so many people are so afraid to dream, and reach for the stars. Most of us were raised in the traditional way, and we were taught to go out and get a regular job and work for hard for what you want. You know, that is wonderful, but at some point, you have to know when to throw in the towel. Read some of the comments and responses we received regarding this true story.

Wow. How profound!!!
I, too, am going to. Even though it seems that you are in a prison, the cell doors are wide open, waiting for you to make your exit into the next phase of your life in fulfilling your dreams. If your dreams have failed, dream a new dream…..but never stop dreaming. Forget about what people may say, forget they you know that they are happy that you have fallen. Love your haters…they are your life advancers. Keep working, keep believing, keep reading His word. God hasn’t left you, He has only shaken you up to receive what He has been waiting to give you!
